Housing for a month in Rome

I'm looking for recommendations on accomodations for a month's stay in Rome. Don't need to be in the Centro Storico; close to a Metro stop will do. Thinking of a small apt. or studio with private bath. I'll be in Rome in September-October 2012. Thanks for any suggestions. Ellen Bateman, Evanston, IL, USA

Ellen, contact my friend, Antonello Monti, at [email protected]. We often stay in his apartments. He used to work with Alitalia and speaks excellent English. I know he has a small 1-BDR apt with a private bath on Via Germanico - close to the Vatican. It is near many transportation links and sounds like it may be just what you need. Mention me and your need for month-long lease and he may cut the price a little... Not sure if it's open as he does tend to book up quickly. Good Luck!

We stayed here last week. It's close to the Colosseo Metro. Also a number of buses stop nearby. http://www.vrbo.com/98883 It's a tiny studio, but on the 5th floor (with an elevator). Very well equipped.
