.Hotels with elevators

How likely will I be able to find hotels with elevators in Sicily?

My best advice would be to do a search on kayak, hotels, and other .com sites. You can include in your search 'elevator' and that will limit your results. You still would have a lot of digging to do to find the hotel you really want but at least that hurdle would be done with. Lots of luck! Sicily is worth it!!!!

All of the above, and then I would also search reviews of your prospective hotels for both "elevator" and "lift." So many hotels in Europe advertise elevator, but when you get there it is 80 years old and hasn't worked for the past ten.

If that's the case reviewers will grumble.

Note also that some elevators might not fit a wheelchair if that is your situation.

But you should be good with a little searching :)

I use booking.com. Scrolling down towards the bottom for what you desire, there is a button "elevators to the higher floors" or something like that. There is also a button "all room on the first floor" or something like that. This is on the left hand side.

It is under Room accessibility on the l;eft hand side.

You also can read reviews. There is a button for Lift and a button for Stairs

Also be sure the rooms are on the same level as the elevator lobby.

Just had a rental condo in Hawaii that had an elevator, but the units were either 4 steps down or 4 to 8 steps up from the level of the elevator lobby. Had a similar situation in Italy as well, where we had steps to navigate between the elevator and room.

For us it was no more than a surprise, where for some it could prove a barrier.

On the Rick Steves Sicily tour there were a couple of hotels that had elevators, but there were exterior steps to the lobby and/or steps from the lobby to the landing where the elevator was. So, yes, if you need no stairs, careful questioning is necessary.

Nicer and/or chain hotels typically have elevators. We also have found many Airbnb apartments with hotels. Unfortunately, in many places in Italy that have elevators, the elevators are located up many steps.
