hotels or pensionne in Venice

I have read on previous travelers helplines for Ricksteves concerning places to stay in Venice. I am running into problems--either the rooms look shabby or the price is so high. I am willing to pay 100-130 euros a night to give an idea of price. i have stayed at Pensionne Gueratto which is fine. i just wanted a few ideas of other places which are clean, near a vaporetto stop if possible. any ideas? thanks in advance, Mary

You will find the Hotel Messner in the price range you show above. They have the hotel and an annex out the back door. We've stayed in the Annex. 80Eu-100Eu for a single. The rooms are small but very clean. Breakfast is a bit better than most. It's quite close to the Salute vaporetto stop in Dorsoduro and a short walk past small shops to the Peggy Guggenheim museum. Here's the link. http://www.hotelmessner.it/

I stayed at Ca Centopietre in 2008. It is about a 5 minute walk from the the Accademia vaporetto stop in Dorsoduro. I was quite pleased with my stay, but would suggest that you check recent reviews on tripadvisor since it has been a few years since I stayed there. Website is www.centopietre.net/en/
