Do the hotels on the Sicily tour all have ensuite bathroom facilities or are they shared?
I just finished the wonderful RS Sicily Tour a week ago. All of the hotels had ensuite bathrooms. All of the five hotels were nice, and three were actually pretty spectacular, I thought.
Every hotel I've ever stayed in has a private bath. In Palermo I got a great booking.com deal at Centrale Palace hotel, and it was really within walking distance to most of the sites and had an incredible breakfast buffet (get it, it's worth it for the chandeliers alone, but it's huge). Also a fabulous rooftop restaurant. Cefalu, fabulous but more expensive, great beach break at Hotel le Calette, many beautiful hotels in Taormina, but stayed at a Sweet BnB. I've GOT to do a trip report. I LOVED Sicily! Didn't do the tour, though! Just went on my own!
Thank you Larry. Would this tour be suitable for a fit older couple with regard to portage etc. walking is not a problem for us.
My wife and I did this tour in February. I'm 70 and she's 67. We didn't have any trouble at all. I agree that the hotels were just fine. A couple had roof top terraces with great views of the surrounding area.
My husband and I did this tour 2 years ago and the hotels were very nice. There were no problems with walking or luggage and at the time my husband was 79 and I was 73. You will love this trip.
Thank you to everyone who replied. This information was very helpful and helped us make our mind to do the tour. Susan.
