Hotels near the Via Veneto/Villa Borghese

Hello to all, I am looking for hotels in Rome and I’m seeing a good deal for a hotel near the Villa Borghese on the Via Veneto. Is this a good location where I would be able to walk to most places, or do you all think that it would be better to stay somewhere like the Pantheon instead? What are some benefits to staying near the Via Veneto vs the Pantheon?

The Pantheon area is considerably more centrally located. The place you've found might work for you, though, depending on what sights you plan to see and how much you like to walk. If you use Google Maps to plot walking directions from that hotel to your key sights, you'll get the distance and a walking-time estimate. Note that if the time estimate is significantly longer than 20 minutes per mile, you'll probably be walking uphill.

Switching to directions by public transportation will give you an idea of whether buses or the (limited) Metro will be of assistance. I've never used Google's public-transportation directions in Europe; there may be better options, like the Citymapper app.

We stayed at the Romanico Palace a couple of times, which is near Via Veneto. Honestly, I found that staying closer to the center is better for us. The last few times we were in Rome was stayed near the Piazza Navona, which we really enjoyed. All of our trips were amazing and successful, you just have to decide what you want to be close to. Good luck.

It’s a nice area but a bit too far to walk to major sites

We always stay near Pantheon
Last trip we stayed in Trastevere which is fine and walkable to sites as well

For you all who have stayed near the Via Veneto or Villa Borghese, would you consider the area inconvenient?

It is decently served by buses and the Metro is just down the street at Piazza Barbarini. I love the area as I worked at the US Embassy for a few years. It is less touristed than the Centro Storico. Which hotel, exactly?
