Anyone have a hotel to recommend that is near the Rome airport? Preferably with free shuttle. Just need it for one night on returning to U.S. from a month away. Will have been right in Rome earlier.
Hi cm,
Look into these:
- Rome Airport Hilton
- The Hilton Garden Inn
- The Best Western Riviera
- The Hotel Tiber
Most likely, the Hilton's will be expensive.
I stayed in the Hotel Tiber in 2014 the night before our flight and it was very nice. Quiet rooms and a decent restaurant. The shuttle to the airport wasn't free, but very reasonable - 6 euros I think. Of course, it might be a bit more now.
Only one choice for me.......the Hilton Rome Airport. The hotel is located at the airport just a short walk to the terminals. Super convenient and no need to worry about shuttle service.
Hilton Airport hotel is expensive but not more than other similar hotels. And you are not dependent on taxi or shuttle. You just walk to your terminal. Hotel also had complimentary bus which connects the hotel with the downtown Rome. It has its schedule posted.
I stayed at the Hilton last fall before an early morning flight and it was fine, though expensive. Took about ten minutes to walk along the skybridge to the nearest terminal, would have taken a little longer to others.

Already mentioned by Girasole.
I stayed there and enjoyed it. Couple blocks to beach and several restaurants, we chose one with outdoor seating, for last evening meal in Italy
Shuttle is 6 euro each to FCO.
We always stay at the Hilton FCO. You can walk there from rental car return. It is located in the airport property.
Many thanks to all who replied — it’s greatly appreciated.
