My husband and I fly out at the early hour of 6am from Milan (back home). We're planning to stay near the airport the night before so as to easily catch a shuttle (or similar) to the airport at 4am. Any suggestions for accommodation?

The airport has a great web page for nearby hotels: http://www.airportmalpensa.com/airport-hotels.html Definitely recommend the Hotel First. Google the hotel's own website first, however, before booking through the links on the airport site. Just to check for lower rates.

We are staying near the airport for a 7 am flight. I picked the Holiday Inn Express.

Stayed at Best Western Jet Hotel last fall. Has a shuttle to the airport, free internet and is in a quiet location.

There is a Sheration right at the airport. You just cross a street and you are there. We stayed at the First Hotel which had free shuttle service. I believe it took 7 minutes to get to the airport.

I stayed in Milan a couple blocks from the main train station and then caught an early AM shuttle bus to the airport. It was perfect!
I would recommend the Hotel Berna - they have a great website and it is only 2 blocks from the main train station.
