Hotels in Venice, Florence, Sienna

We are travelling with our 16 yr.old daughter and 21-year old son to the stated cities. Any recommendations for hotels? We don't mind walking but would like places with character but not over 250 euros for each room. Suggestions?

For 250 Euros a room a night you have many choices. Tripadvisor.com and Venere.com are good sites to read reviews of hotels from recent guests.

We went to each of these locations over the holidays and strongly recommend the hotels we stayed in. All were well under your price ceiling and accomodate families. In Siena - Casa di Antonella B&B on Via delle Terme 72 in the center. The building is from 1618. Great breakfast. In Florence - Soggiorno Battistero on Piazza San Giovanni right across from the Duomo in the center. In Venice - Pensione Gueratto on Calle drio de la Scimia right next to Rialto Market. Great location & breakfast. The building dates from 1200-something, I believe. These are all listed in RS' book.

Frank, we stayed at several places that were a fraction of your maximum budget. We also traveled with two teens, which as you well know, doubles the price of the trip. Alma Domus in Siena was lovely, for only 60EUR a night for a double with bath. My kids loved the breathtaking views from our little iron balconies. In Florence the Istituto Gould is only 56 EUR a night for a double with bath, again with lovely character. Our quad room with private bath in Venice at Corte Compana was 140, a pretty good price for Venice. All these places were quite nice (not fancy or luxurious)and had the wonderful feeling of antiquity that we travel to Europe to experience.I'm always amazed at these great little places we find in Europe that even with the bad exchange rate, are incredible deals.

Florence, Hotel Silla. Walking distance of lots of things, very clean, GREAT breakfasts, nice, friendly staff. Unfortunately I don't remember what it cost hubby and me 2 years ago, sorry!
