Hotels in Venice

My friends and I are planning a trip to Venice for carnival in February 2025 and we're looking for recommended hotels. There will be 3 of us so a room with 2 big beds or a family style room would be great. None of us have been to Venice before so we're looking for recommendations. We will probably stay for a week.
Thank you so much,

If you don't mind stairs, you could look into Pensione Guerrato, next to the Rialto Market. The lobby is upstairs, and the rooms above that, no elevator. The building is hundreds of years old but the rooms are clean and comfortable, including some big ones. I stayed a few nights in a room with three or four beds when nothing else was available. The location is excellent but street noise might be a problem, especially during Carnival.

Here’s another vote for the Pensione Guerrato. It was the tour hotel for our VFR Tour last October. I was particularly pleased with its location. Two left turns from the hotel entrance and you’re looking at the Rialto Bridge!

if you are going to stay a week, look for an apartment. more room to move around, kitchen, some have washers (pack light).
depending on what location you want to stay in, there will be lots of walking, stairs/steps over cobblestones/bridges with luggage, any mobility issues, check in is usually 2-4pm and check out is 10-11am, if there is luggage hold if you get there early, ask for early check in if possible, look at numbers of guest allowed, if flying out of venice check departure times, most are early "dark thirty hour" some are 6am, budget in euros, always look at cancellation policies
email or fill out forms to ask questions. may be too early to book and carnivale is a busy time that gets booked up fast.
here's a few to check out
cabadoer-veniceflat.it
look at the places they offer, we stayed in the west studio for 2 of us. we loved this place. couple that own it are lovely people, small elevator, a small walk from san toma stop and behind frari church. fill out the form to contact them for availability dates and rates
la levantina on booking.com (scroll down to "still looking?", click ask a question, ask, then click for their answer
we stayed here with 4 friends and loved it. outside patio to enjoy our happy hour, living room opens onto a small canal, minutes from train station or at san marcuola casino stop

ruga bella apartment

venice new luxury residence
albergomarin.com
they have apartments, email them for availability for your dates and rates

ca' d'oro suite/penthouse or superior apartment
this gives you few places to check out and see what suits your gang's fancy. you'll love venice, been 4 times and one of my favorite
places. get your accomodations figured and booked for that busy time then come back for info of things to do and see plus what are your plans.

I stayed at Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo last October. The rooms are big, wifi worked well, breakfast was good, short walk to vaporetto stop (no bridges to climb).

Agree with the recommendation for Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo. We've stayed there a few times and would definitely stay there again. There are rooms in various price categories. It's next to the San Stae Church right on the Grand Canal, with a vaporetto stop in front of the church (only 1 vaporetto stop from the train station).

For those of you who stayed at the above hotel is it walkable from the train station?

The hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo is about a 15 minute walk from the Venice Santa Lucia train station, as long as you do not take a wrong turn and get lost.

Thanks for all your info! I really like the idea of an apartment. So nice to have a living room and kitchen if you're there for a while. Nice to have some snacks and drinks and not have to eat out every meal.
I'll check out all the recommendations,

P. Gueratto has (or had) an apartment to let not far from their main location. Great people to deal with, so you might see if the apartment is available.

If it matters, pay particular attention to the availability of an elevator; not all properties have one. Since you're traveling in February, you don't need to worry about air conditioning.
