We were in Venice in November of last year and stayed at Ca' Fortuny. Orignally our reservations were for the San Moise, but we were aware that there was a possibility we would be moved to their sister hotel, the Ca'Fortuny. It was no problem. This was a very nice hotel - conveniently located to areas of interest and their buffet breakfast was great. It was nice to have eggs, bacon, etc. offered since our other breakfast buffets in other areas of Italy had not offered these dishes even though they had been very good. We found this hotel to be very nice. We were not sorry we had been moved.

A strong second for the Hilton Molino Stucky. We were fortunate enough to be there on their opening night 6/1/07. Thus, it's a new hotel. We were the first paying customers in their restaurant (dinner). It's a beautiful hotel with great service. It's on the other side of the Giudecca Canal but they have two free shuttles that go back and forth between the hotel's private dock and the San Zaccaria stop (St. Mark's). They depart every 30 minutes and also stop across the canal at Zattere where there are some very nice restaurants. Easy to get to and from the train station if you use the Palanca stop.
