Hotels in Venice

Al Ponte Mocenigo. We've stayed there a few times, the hotel and rooms are beautiful inside, excellent breakfast, and the people who run it can't do enough for you. It's only one vaporetto stop from the train station, right next to the San Stae church on the Grand Canal. Very convenient whether you want to walk around Venice or use the vaporetto system.

I do think that online article is very helpful. Since it was written, the vaporetto fare has increased from 7.50 euros to 9.50 euros, so the savings from choosing a hotel right near your entry point to Venice are likely to be 19 euros per person.

Another vote for Al Ponte Mocenigo. Stayed there in Sept 2021.

With a one-night stay I would strongly recommend staying near Piazzale Roma (if you are departing by plane) or the train station.

Hotel Paganelli is on the water, and near St. Mark's Square.

We stayed at the Rosa Salva - nice hotel located very central to most sights/attractions.
