Take a look to www.nycerome.com.
Click on the Trastevere district. Look at the hotels that come up, and if you see one you like, book it by clicking on the booking button. The site will redirect you to www.booking.com for checking availability and making reservations at the hotel you've selected. I've always found good choices using that site for Rome. I think most of their featured hotels/BnB are top choices in their respective price category.

Darrell, One really nice Hotel in Trastevere that you could look at is Casa San Guiseppe. It's close to Piazza Trilussa, the rooms are very comfortable and the staff are great. There are lots of small pizza places, restaurants, gelato shops in that area, and Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere is within easy walking distance. Piazza Trilussa is quite a "party place" well into the nights, and if you happen to be wandering around in the early morning hours, it will probably look like a disaster area. However, by about 08:00 or so, everything will be "good as new". They sometimes have street markets in the Piazza, and those are always fun to explore. Happy travels!

I can second what Ken is saying about Piazza Trilussa. Some friends of mine spent two weeks in Rome in an apartment overlooking Piazza Trilussa and hardly got any sleep at night because of the partying. Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere is also a big hangout place. Here are some photos I took in Trastevere that illustrate it a bit: Trastevere in May 2008 You'll see some photos of SMT at night. Lots of fun.

My wife and I just returned from renting an apartment in the Trastevere on Via Manara. Via Manara is close to everything (look on a map) but not the center of the nightlife. Bottom line, it was always quiet for us at night.

My husband and I have stayed twice at the Hotel Santa Maria as recommended in Rick's book. It is on a small allyway behind the piazza and very quiet. It has a beautiful courtyard with orange trees where you can enjoy breakfast and complimentary afternoon snacks. We are staying again in June! Highly recommended.
