Hotels in Trastevere

Hello - does anyone have any recommendations for hotels/B&Bs/apartments in Trastevere? I'm looking for around the $200 range or less.

Thank you.

Probably Trastevere would fit that description.

I personally didn't care for Trastevere. We stayed in a an apartment in Campo dei Fiori which is much more centrally located the Trastevere. You can see the apartment here:

We stayed the 1st 4 nights in Rome in the apartment (150 Euro nightly) and the last night in Rome at the end of our Italy vacation we spent in Hotel Trastevere. The location is a longer walk from the tourist sites and wasn't very interesting.

I know there are lots of people who love Trastevere, but just thought I'd let you know that not everyone adores it like Rick Steves.

We stayed more cental in Rome last year and liked that but were hoping to get away from the touristy area and more into local neighbourhoods... would Trastevere fit that description?

I didn't even know that Rick Steves loves Trastevere!!!

This time we stayed in Trastevere. While there are fewer tourists, there are still a significant number of them. The authentic local dining has been a bit compromised. It is more homey, but also congested. It is definitly farther away from major sites. Getting back to Trastevere late at night after walking, getting tired, in other areas of rome is really tiring.

Some years ago I stayed at a small and relatively inexpensive place. I would guess it's well under your price range:

Hotel Cisterna
Via della Cisterna, 7-8-9
Roma 00153
Tel: 011-39- 06-581-7212
near the Santa Maria in Trastevere
