Hello,
Has anyone stayed at the Villa Diodoro in Taormina? If so, how far it to the main sights by walking?
Thank you.
Cj
I have not stayed there but looked at the location on Google Maps. It is smack next door to the gardens, which are lovely to tour. Taormina is so small that it should not take you more than 5-15 minutes max to get anywhere. The main drag (Corso Umberto) is a straight road that about 800 meters in length (10 min walk all the way across) from one town gate to the other ("Porta Messina" to "Porta Catania") with lots of little side streets. Of course the walk will take longer than 10 min because the street is full of shops and restaurants, but it seems like your hotel is well-located with good views of the water.

On an RS trip several years ago we stayed in the Hotel Victoria right on the main street (near center of town) in Taormina - it was perfect.
On our first trip to Italy & Sicily seven years ago we stayed at Hotel Villa Schuler. Run by Germans, this beautiful place overlooks the sea but also is only a short block slightly uphill to the main drag in Taormina, Corso Umberto.
