Hotels in Sorrento; Naples Airport

Any mid-range hotel recommendations for a 3 or 4 night stay in Sorrento? Also, I am looking at flying back to the US out of Naples airport (flight to depart at 12:30 pm) - Am I better off staying at a Naples hotel near the airport the night before, or departing Sorrento very early that morning? I was debating hiring a driver/guide to do the Amalfi Coast drive, then an to Paestum, and then maybe having him drive us up to a hotel near the Naples airport at the end of the day.

I don't think it would be impossible to get from Sorrento to the Naples airport, but it might be a little more stressful way than necessary to end your trip. Via public transportation, it's about 70 minutes to get from Sorrento to the Naples central train station via the Circumvesuviana, and it looks like it's about a 20 minute bus ride to get to the airport from there. So leave earlier than you think you need to just to be on the safe side. My husband & I stayed at the Ulisse Deluxe Hostel in Sorrento this last fall and thought it was great. Hostel is somewhat misleading, I believe they do have more traditional hostel-like dorm rooms available, but we had a double room with a private bath, very big and modern, and it was only about 70 euros a night - one of the nicer places we stayed on our trip. The lobby is large and airy with marble floors and free Wi-Fi, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Stay in Sorrento and take the Curreri Bus directly to the Naples airport. (currierviaggo.it) Price 10E leaves@8:30 arrives 10:00. Naples is a small airport so you don"t need as much time before hand to check in. An earlier departure is also available.
The Sita bus, (amalficoastweb.com) will get you to almost every town on the Amalfi Coast at a reasonable cost. The site also gives you the ferry and hydrofoil schedule. Have a great trip
