Hi, I am really struggling trying to find a nice hotel in Sorrento. I am thinking about the Hotel Mediterraneo Sorrento. We can afford their top room with a balcony but cannot afford any 5 star hotels. Can anyone offer any advice. We are there for 4 nights.
Thanks.
gina,
You might have a look at Il Nido, La Tonnarella or Settimo Cielo for your stay in Sorrento. Be sure to check Trip Advisor or other review sites to ensure they meet your criteria.
Buon Viaggio!
We stayed at Palazzo Montefusco Relais in Sorrento for 5 nights and absolutely loved it. Everything was top notch, clean, modern and comfortable. The staff couldn't be more helpful & were always making sure things were good! I would stay there again in a heart beat. The location was also great; right off the main square (Piazza Tasso) but on a pedestrian-only drag close to shops, restaurants, etc. Have a great trip.
Thanks, Ken & Sheron. I did get a quote from La Tonnarella. We could do this hotel as well. Does anyone have any thoughts on La Tonnarella or Hotel Mediterraneo?
Thanks.
We've stayed at La Tonnarella 3 times, for a week each time, and love it. They have amazing views, a private beach which we really enjoyed, a restaurant with really good food and a large terrace that's wonderful for outdoor dining in warm weather, a large dining room with great views, and a really, really good buffet breakfast. We became friends with the staff who were all wonderful. It's an easy 10 min walk to or from the center of town. Or, you can easily take the town bus. I would highly recommend a room with a private terrace overlooking the town and the bay.
We have stayed twice at the Hotel Antiche Mura which we loved, once in the annex in back past the pool and lemon grove and once in the main building- both great. It is in town within an easy walk of the train/bus station, and close to shopping, restaurants, etc. Wonderful breakfast especially when the weather is good and you can eat outside on their terrace. Great service, lovely decor. Highly recommend.
Hotel Antiche Mura! It's so close to everything and the staff is wonderful!
We stayed at the Hilton in Sorrento and were very pleased. Our room had a lovely balcony. The pool overlooked Mt Vesuvius in the distance. The bar is great for a night cap or two. They close when you are ready to go to bed. Easy walk onto town.
We stayed at the Ambasciatori Hotel and it was absolutely lovely. It was about 10 minutes to town - which we enjoyed to get exercise and digest our delicious meals. Their breakfast room and outdoor dining are wonderful!
Hotel Il Nido is where I stayed in 2010 --- FANTASTIC view, comfortable rooms and free shuttle to town
