Julie: I stayed at the Beehive in Rome in May 2010 and was pleased with everything. I stayed in a dorm room with others (co-ed) and did not feel at all insecure. The bathrooms down the hall were clean and well maintained. The breakfast served in the kitchen downstairs was the best one enjoyed in all of my 21 day trip to Italy. Don't get me wrong, I love cappucino and brioche but sometimes I just want some eggs and toast. It was a wonderful eggs benedict served with flare. Quiet too... even though the place is not far from Termini Statione, it was not noisy and I did not feel unsafe. Words of warning though - because it is a popular place, book early. Ciao!
