We are on your trip to Italy this Fall. We will be spending some extra days in Rome at the end. Do you have any recommendations on hotels that would be centrally located so we can walk to many of the sites.
If your tour ends in Rome, many people do book extra nights at the same Rome hotel where they're scheduled. Remind them when booking that you are arriving with the tour that ends on XX date. You have probably already received a listing of your first and last tour hotel, as well as Rick's Italy book to help with planning.
Hi...if you cannot get rooms in your tour hotel: Last year (our 3rd trip to Rome) we stayed at Albergo del Senato, a 3 star. It's literally on the doorstep of the Pantheon a wonderful location. Walk to almost everywhere. It's a really lovely hotel, great rooms, clean, safe, friendly helpful staff with elevator and air conditioning with a really good included breakfast. The a/c was badly needed and extremely welcome during the August heat wave we experienced. ATM & grocery nearby. I hope Rick and his staff will consider entering it as a recommendation. It's truly a great place. We'll definitely stay there again on our next trip and highly recommend it to others.
Here's a safe option. We just finished a stay here this week. Hotel Della Torre Argentina. Location is great. Has in room mini fridge where you can store food from grocery store. Very clean. Good AC system. Try to book directly with hotel online. I think you will get a better rate. Quiet place. No breakfast included though. Much cheaper to get breakfast on your own. Hotel charges a lot for breakfast. Exe Della Torre Argentina. It's part of the EXE hotel chain system.
