Hello! We are preparing for our trip to Sicily on the Rick Steve’s Best of Sicily Tour. Our tour begins on October 23rd, and we will be arriving two days earlier. The Ambasciatori Hotel does not have available rooms on the 21st and the 22nd. Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel within 10-15 minutes of the Ambasciatori? Thank you in advance. We took this tour fall 2019 - same situation, the RS hotel did not have availability. We stayed at:
BB22 Charming Rooms & Apartments Via Pantelleria, 22 (Corner Largo Cavalieri di Malta) 90133 PALERMO 4997 + XQ Palermo, PAOK OWN HOTEL
It was a very nice hotel and Rody, our hotelier, welcomed us and provided a map and restaurant recommendations. The hotel has a pretty rooftop terrace. Not sure if it is close to your tour hotel.
We really enjoyed this tour, the sights and foods were amazing.

We stayed at Terrazza sul Centro. It looks to be 500 meters away. It has the most beautiful terrace with a spectacular view which is where they serve a wonderful breakfast. The room was comfortable, good sized and the entire inn was spotless. It is in former Palazzo, I think. You do have to walk up a few flights of stairs. The location was wonderful.

If you are interested in a B&B, Delle Vittorie is in walking distance (9 min.) from Ambasciatori. Great location. We had planned to stay at this B&B in 2020, but due to the lockdown, etc we had to cancel. Several contributors from the forum had stayed there and highly recommended this location. The staff were extremely kind when we had to cancel. We would definitely rebook! I am attending the 11 Day Tour of Sicily beginning on October 21st which is probably why you can't get a room. I am flying in a few days early and looking at going to Cefalù for a couple of days (1 hour from Palermo via train). Not a city on the 11 day tour.
Was curious if anyone had hotel recommendations for Cefalù? I found a hotel and winery in RS Sicily Tour book called Abbazia Sant' Anastasia https://www.abbaziasantanastasia.com/it/.
Says it is a 20 minute drive from Cefalù. Not sure if there is a train stop near by. Planning to contact the hotel and find out. Cooking classes and wine tastings.
