I'm planning a three week trip to Italy and would really appreciate hearing about your favorite hotels in Naples, Florence, Bologna. We prefer smaller hotels with local flavor in the center of town and/or near the train stations. Thanks.

We absolutely loved Napoli Bonita. More B&B than hotel. Very helpful owners and staff. Very conveniently located just steps from the Toledo metro station.
I hope you love Naples as much as we did!

Just added a post in regard to a Florence lodging. Made a no-cost to cancel reservation at Melarancio Apartments. NOTE - I have never stayed there - my research shows what I believe to be a very good location - near the train station / historical center. And a fair price - just over $400 for four nights.
