Wow.. we're planning our trip for May 28 2017 and thought for sure I'd be able to find a place for 2 nights. Tried Rick's suggestions and even Trip Advisor and all I'm getting is no availability. We need 2 rooms, can anyone recommend a mid-range hotel, bb, or rooms?
I ran into this issue when I was trying to plan a trip to the CT. I was booking about a year in advance and many many places didn't get back to me. Some told me they were already full, which seemed weird. Some told me that it was too early to book a room. I never got a firm offer to book a room from anyone I tried. I gave up and we spent the time in Positano since we were headed down to Rome anyways and I have no regrets. It was weird though.
Hold tight...it's wayyy too early to book...who knows if their schedules and pricing is already in place. If everyone booked that far ahead everywhere, there would be no rooms left for people who book 2-6 months out. There's really no need to book (or worry about accommodations) this many months out.
Kathy,
I had the exact same situation. I contacted several hotels in Cinque Terre for next May and they told me they were already booked for tours. One of them recommended that I use this website: www.cinqueterrehotels.com and submit my information. I then received at least a dozen responses from hotels and B&Bs that had availability. I booked a real nice looking B&B for me and my family.
Did you try La Spiaggia? Again, it might be too early but...

Also on booking.com (but I'd try them directly):
I would not agree with Agnes that it is too early to book.
Places do book up 10 months in advance, that is not that uncommon for a popular destination / top rated hotel. Not saying every place will but definitely a couple of the top rated places book full well in advance.
I do think you may be doing something wrong though, I just went on booking . com and saw plenty of listings for this town with a 2 night stay.
Even still ; much of the Cinque Terre are small family run B&B's.
If you have identified a couple of places you would like to stay that show unavailable or even available find their email from google or their website and email them directly for a rate for your dates. I think at this time of year you will have good success booking your top choice.
FWIW, some places in the CT don't make rooms available until after the start of the new year. Until then, they appear as blocked out.
I agree with many of the above responses that you may have to take matters in your own hands. Find their email, and email them with your dates, number of guests and any other questions you have. I like to call direct, starting with "parle inglese?" You might have to wait a minute while they find someone who speaks English, but they are always very accommodating.
La Spiaggia has an email address on their web page, and were responsive in excellent English so don't be afraid of any lack of fluency in Italian. :O)
Kathy,
Which hotels are you looking at in Monterosso? As someone else mentioned, I'd also try to E-mail or perhaps even call as you may get a better response with that method. There are lots of hotels and other accommodations in Monterosso, and it's unlikely that they're all booked up.
Looking on booking.com there are quite a few places available for those two nights.
I had no problem finding available rooms in Monterosso for a Sept 2016 (SOON!!) ad we looked back late in April. Try AirBnB.
