My husband & I and another couple are flying into Milan on November 17. We are only spending 2 nights there. Would it be better to stay near the train station or somewhere close to the Duomo? Can anyone recomend a hotel somewhere under $175.00 a night? Thanks!

Not sure if Gran Duca de York or something like that, it was in RS books a few years ago... is still open but I loved that place...had a room with outdoor space and could relax and have a glass of wine it was so nice

I usually stay near the train station - very close to public transportation all over Milan. Hotel Berna or Hotel Garda are just a couple blocks from the train
station, both are nice.

We stayed in King Mokinba hotel in Milan in June. Reasonable rate, close to Last Supper, and castle, good walk from Duomo or a short tram ride. Clean, very supportive staff. Pretty close to the $175 a night mark, but if interested check out their web site for accurate rates. Enjoy the journey.
