Morning,
We've been looking at different hotels in Florence - so many to choose from
Does anyone have thoughts on either Hotel David or Rosary Hotel?
Thank you.
you can type those 2 hotels in the SEARCH BAR at the top and see if there are reviews there from people on this site.
If not, TripAdvisor is very helpful.
We love Florence and we are returning in October.
Good morning!
Could you share the exact location or a link to those hotels?
The ones I'm seeing with those names are way too far out of the historic center.
Florence is very compact and walkable. If you choose a hotel anywhere between the train station (SM Novella) the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio you will be in the historic center and can walk easily to all sights.
Since you are only there for 2 nights- stay close to the sights so you don't waste time/money getting to and from.
A forum favorite Is Hotel Pendini. If you locate that Hotel on Google maps- then search nearby for hotels you will find many to choose from.
If you share your budget (per night ) we can probably name several more for you.
I like to use booking.com. You can set filters for location budget, amenities (you will still need AC end of Sept).
Read the reviews there and they can be trusted as only folks who have really stayed at the property can submit.
We have stayed in several hotels in Florence-
I'll just name 2 from the least expensive
Hotel Paris
https://www.parishotel.it/
to most expensive (at least for us!)
Hotel Berchielli
https://www.berchielli.it/en/
Both were in great locations and I would happily return to either.
Both listed on Booking.com as well
ETA:
Hotel Paris- we walked to/from train station- used the underground mall walkway
Hotel Berchielli- we took a taxi to/from station/car agency- cost was about 10-12 euros IIRC

We stayed at a Rick Steves recommended hotel, Hotel Cellai, when we were last in Florence. Walkable to train station. It is very pleasant with a good breakfast and quirky little bar.
we've just come back from a 3 night trip to Florence in April, and stayed at the Mercure Firenze Centro Hotel, Via Nazionale 21/23r - it's very conveniently located about 500 metres from the Santa Maria Novello train station where you usually arrive in Florence if you come by train or bus from Pisa Airport. It was a very nice 4 star hotel and we had a lovely stay there - we did book it through lastminute.com however, not directly, and got a deal on the flights plus hotel included. And easy to walk to all the main tourist sites from there too.
I stayed in Hotel Silla a couple of months ago and highly recommend it. (So does Rick Steves.)
It’s across the Arno from the center, so it’s a little more quiet and quaint, but it is very convenient to all the sites. Very clean. Convenient. And it’s great value for the money.
I stayed at Hotel Adler Cavalieri on Via della Scala in 2022 for two nights.
Great breakfast and clean comfy quiet room.
Good old fashioned lovely service, and about a 6 minute walk from SMN station.
I would definitely stay there again.
Christine - realized the hotels I mentioned are truly farther out than we want to be. Thanks for commenting.
Definitely going to check out the other hotels referenced more in city center near everything.
Will check in after I get my dates back in order!
Thanks,
Jan
