Hello, I’m looking for recommendations on a good hotel in Florence, Italy, preferably one that is centrally located to make walking to the popular sites most convenient. Thanks for your help! Jennyd
It's been quite a few years, but we stayed at the Hotel Albani Firenze. It is an elegant four-star hotel on a quiet street about a block from the train station. Everything was within easy walking distance. What I recall was that their breakfast and coffee was one of the best that we had in in all of Europe. I would suggest that you look at the more recent reviews.
Plaza Hotel Lucchesi is affordable and nice.
We stay at the Hotel Argentina. It is a modest hotel about 2 blocks from the train station and an easy walk to the major sites.
Florence is very compact
Any hotel between the station-Duomo-Ponte Vecchio will be walking distance to everywhere
Use Google maps to pinpoint hotel location and check walking distance to sites
Use Booking..com to research hotels, use the filters for budget, location, amenities etc

We really enjoyed staying at Martelli 6 suites and apartments. Centrally located and spacious room. The reception is not 24 hours but it was easy to come and go early and late when the reception was closed.
