Could you recommend a hotel in Florence that would be in walking distance to "everything" and that is suitable for a single woman traveler, not needing any real luxury....a spot that I could stay for 10 days without spending a fortune. Is that all possible?
You might consider this hotel (B&B, actually): Soggiorno Battistero Web site: www.soggiornobattistero.it Email: [email protected] Phone: +39-055-268189
Address: Piazza San Giovanni, 1, 50129 Firenze, Italia Right out your window is the Baptistery. Per night is 78 Euro. They have WiFI, room safes, hair dryers, but no elevator. I chose it for its central local and price.
I concur with Robert's recommendation for Soggiorno Battistero. The BnB is run by Lucca and his American wife Kelly. Very clean and comfortable and well situated for getting around Florence. The only drawback is that there is no elevator and there are several flights of stairs.
You could also consider renting an apartment. It will definitely save you money, and you often get the perk of your own kitchen and laundry.
Judi, I just returned from Italy in January. We stayed in Hotel Por Santa Maria in Florence and LOVED IT! It's run by Ines and her husband. The location is UNBELIEVABLE. Absolutely everything is within walking distance. It was one of the only places we stayed that had a lift. There is not much luxury to this place so it is extremely well priced in comparison to what was out there. Ines is the nicest lady, extremely helpful and made wonderful recommendations for food. I truly can't wait to go back to Florence, and I will definitely be staying here again. Safe travels,
D. FYI: [email protected] is their email. If you google the hotels name, it should come up also.
