Can anyone please recommend a clean, air conditioned hotel with your own private bathroom in Florence please? Thank you very much.
No direct recommendation, but if you look into booking.com for your dates in Florence, you should be able to easily identify a spot that suits you, regarding prices, recommendations and amenities.
Just make sure that a suitable amount of reviews are available for your choice.
The Spadai and Calimala are supposedly very good. Do not recommend Hotel de La Ville due to the filthy water from the bath taps, leaky shower screens (floor became slippery) The hotel staff told me dirty water is quite normal. Americans seem to write positive reviews about the Pendini, but it looks to be in a noisy area from what I saw.
I’ve never seen a hotel in Florence in that price range, or even less, without a private bathroom. $300 to $400 is at least a 4 star hotel, not a hostel, In the Region of Tuscany any hotel with 2 stars must have at least 7 rooms and all with a private bathroom or they won’t get 2 stars.. and you can find 2 star hotels for 100 euro. For your price range you will get a very nice hotel.
. I also echo was suggested above. Use booking.com and filter the amenities you need.
Check the Hotel Balesteri.
We stayed in Hotel Dei Macchiaioli 10 years ago, I believe it was recommended in Rick’s book. It was simple, very clean, and a great proximity to the center, but it was far enough away to be quiet. I recall quite a few good restaurants nearby as well.
We've stayed a couple of times in the Il Guelfo Bianco, close to everything. Lots of traffic and people, but that's true anywhere in central Firenze anymore. We've also stayed several times in the Pendini across the street from the Piazza della Repubblica and actually will be staying there again in about a week. Both of these places are within your price range, depending on the time of year, but you may have difficulty finding a room if not booking well in advance.
I have stayed at Hotel Silla five times. Ask for the RS discount.
I stayed here in the past. Near Ponte Vecchio/Borgo San Jacopo. 4 stars, posh. Best air conditioning. Maybe still less than $300, maybe $400 for the executive suite. Try and check for the dates you need.
