Hotels in Cortona

Any recommendations on hotels or B&Bs in Cortona? We would like to be in the village of Cortona rather than outside of the walls. Thank you!

Lisa, One hotel to consider is Hotel San Luca, which is right in the main part of town, right next to the bus stop and very easy walking distance to Piazza Della Repubblica, shops and restaurants. I spent some time there last September and would certainly recommend it. Happy travels!

Just read your post and I have an incredible place to recommend. My husband and I stayed at Le Terre dei Cavalieri on the outskirts of Cortona, close to the local hospital. It is a restored estate, set among sunflower fields, fig trees, and vineyards. The owners go out of their way to make you comfortable. They have rooms as well as apartments. The rooms are huge, very clean, and very well appointed. There is also a swimming pool if you are there in the warm weather. Breakfast is a large buffet with fresh fruit, pastries, breads, eggs, frittata, proscuitto, juices, etc. They served dinner, by reservation, on some evenings. This is really nice as you don't have to get in the car and drive up the hills into Cortona proper if you don't want to. Dinner menu has a couple of different choices in each catagory2 appetizer, 2 entrees, etc. Reasonably priced. Great location for taking day trips to Assisi,Pienza, Arezzo, etc. It is a little to find, but it's worth it. Look at the websitewww.terredeicavalieri.com. Also, go to tripadvisor.com and look at the reviews. You won't be disappointed. Enjoy!!

Lisa We just got home from 9 glorious days in Italy. We stayed 2 nights at Hotel Italia in Cortona, a perfect spot! Close to piazza Republica and fabulous acccomodations for the price with breakfast included.

Another vote for Hotel Italia - helpful staff, great location. Cortina is gorgeous, can't wait to go back next year. To Hotel Italia.
