Hotels in Cinque Terra?

Any thoughts on the Hotel Argentina in Riomaggiore? I have read mixed reviews. We are staying two nights and want to experience the true villages if that is still possible. We plan to walk a lot, absorb the beauty and enjoy food and wine. Other suggestions? We are traveling in early Sept. a couple of weeks and many B&B are full. Also the Hotel Moderno in Bonassola?

Hi Lisa,

I also recommend Edi's Rooms. We stayed in the Casa Mimi room which was wonderful. It had a great view of the ocean & town with a huge balcony. That room has a refrigerator, coffee maker, and table and chairs.

You'll love Riomaggiore. We would sit on the rocks and watch the sunset each night. It's also great walking on the Via Dell Amore during the sunset.

Have a great trip!

I'm not familiar with either, even though we've stayed in Riomaggiore twice. We rented an apartamento with Edi's rooms. It included a small kitchen and a terrace (which we really enjoyed). Riomaggiore has many such rooms and apartments with terraces. I would think they would be much better than a hotel room. But again I'm not familiar with what those hotels offer. My wife and I love Riomaggiore. In the daytime in September it's filled with tourists, but in the evening it belongs to the locals. Unlike Vernazza & Monterosso it is a real town, not a party place. Manarola is also wonderful.

Thanks so much. Our other option was an apartment either through Edi's or Mara Mara. We tend to agree and would rather not stay in a hotel room.
