I will be in Bologna on business, for two days, in July, and am in need of a hotel recommendation. I am looking for something close to or in the city center and reasonable, preferably family-run. Any suggestions would be helpful. Cheers and thanks in advance, Peter
A local hotel group owns Novecento, located in Bologna’s city center on Piazza Galileo, nice property, a public pay garage is next to hotel. Good breakfast and service.
Try the Metropolitan. If you are on a business trip, you should stay here.

Albrego Centrale - right is the center of town near the main square. Great place - I would highly recommend it. It is family run.
I walked around the block to the main square and went into the Tourist Info office, and was able to almost immediately join a walking tour of the central part of Bologna and climb the tallest tower. Love Bologna - University town, yet small and interesting. Seeing the old medical school at the University was amazing.....

We stayed at Albergo delle Drapperie which is a few steps from Piazza Maggiore. Is a small place in a great location.
I always stay at Hotel San Donato on via Zamboni. Good location. Breakfast included in rate.
We stayed at a lovely hotel Corona D'Oro
