Hotels in Amalfi , and cancellation policies

Hi,
Bit of a two part question. We are considering staying in Amalfi town itself for 3 nights in mid -October. We had originally considered Positano, but felt if weather was not great that Amalfi may have a bit more to do. Any lodging recommendations? The Italy RS guidebook doesn't have any. We do not need luxury, but are willing to pay a bit more for a nice view and comfortable room as this will ( hopefully) be the relaxing part of our trip. However would be just as happy with a good B and B.

My second part is booking directly with Italy hotels. I am having challenges finding the cancellation policy on a couple of sites. I'm not sure if it my google translate, but I just can't seem to find it at all. One site lists 3 prices, an early booking price ( pay at hotel), a price with insurance ( non-refundable) and a regular internet rate ( again pay at hotel). Meanwhile on booking.com it lists very clearly when it can be cancelled by. I like to go direct with the hotel if I can, but perhaps I should just do booking.com this time?

Amalfi was our choice and we were very happy at this hotel and with the town
Positano was worthy of just a few hours for us

I’ve booked both with hotel and with booking.com
More so with Booking.com lately as I get better discounts
They also have Mobile Only special pricing

Thanks Christine, it looks lovely. Only one room left, so I guess we'd better make up our minds! It looks like it is right by the beach and quite central.

It’s a great location
Just steps to town and transportation
No hills to climb
