Can anyone recommend a cheap but NICE hotel/hostel in Verona? My boyfriend and I will be travelling there in either November or December (we're pretty open) and insist on sharing a room and want an affordable but nice and trustworthy place to stay for 3 or 4 days.
Thanks!
Here's a post about hotels in Verona--Verona Hotels
We liked Hotel Torcolo It was very comfortable and in a great location.
We stayed this summer at the B&B Erbe, half a block from the Pizza Erbe. Ask for the one room with the bath (2 others don't have a private bath). In July it was about 70 Euros. The breakfast is a simple serve-yourself simple affair, but they have a great coffee maker. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat. We booked it on hostels.com, I think.
We too stayed in Hotel Torcolo in 2006. Loved it and the location. We were able to walk there from the train station.
Mel,
I was in Verona in May and stayed at www.veronahoteleuropa.com/ita/index.htm. It's in a great location and very close to Piazza Bra, the Roman Amphitheatre and other sites.
I would certainly recommend the Hotel as being "nice and trustworthy", but you'll have to decide if it fits your criteria for "affordable".
Happy travels!
