Hotels/B&B

Hello,
I know I’m booking late for my 10/22 visit to Rome…I will need accommodations for 2 adults…perhaps
off the beaten path, but close to the sites…$175-$250 per night!

Rome 10/22-10/26

Florence 10/26-10/28

Venice 10/29-10/31

Balzono 11/1-11/3

11/4. Accommodations close to Marco Polo airport

Love to hear your thoughts on accommodations! Thanks a bunch!

hey hey sglessner4
wow wow wow, really late during busy time during harvest season and festivals.

booking.com, trivago.com, tripadvisor.com your budget is low even though you may get lucky finding something maybe not as close.
put your dates and filters in, click map and see what is left to reserve. are you traveling by train? important to know check-in is 3-4pm check-out is 10-11am. flights out of venice (VCE) are very early, like dark early and where are you flying back to.
your plans are like many others, want to see as much as can with limited days. spending lots of time in stations, airports, train with not really enjoying the place. it's your vacation you do you. plus what attractions/activities have been booked with many being sold out. good luck, enjoy a gelato and big bowl of pasta
aloha

As you are doing your searching, I believe your last city is Bolzano (German Bosen). In Bolzano, we stayed at Hotel Regina and it served our needs nicely. For the other three cities, we stayed at accommodations found in the Rick Steves guide.

Since you're traveling in about a week, I fear that the favorite-hotel suggestions you get on this forum will be booked solid. It's logical that the best-value places would fill up earlier than the acceptable-but-not-special places. It's still worth checking the recommendations you receive here, of course, but I'll second the suggestion to use a third-party site (I use booking.com) to see what's available. I've found the reviews on booking.com to be quite reliable; you can only review a hotel (or other lodging) you have stayed at. It is always worth following up with a visit to the hotel's own website when you identify a possible option, which may offer lower prices.
