The AC Hotel Venezia is not steps from the the train train station, but it is steps from the Piazzale Roma bus depot. Take either the No 5 ACTV bus or the ATVO Bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma. 7 EUR if I remember right. Or spend about 35 EUR for a regular land taxi.

thanks for your quick response ... interestingly, the hotel website states the santa lucia train station is .1 miles from the hotel as is the piazzale roma bus station so i appreciate your input!!

If you google map the location of that hotel, you will see that it is, yes, about .1 mile from Piazzale Roma - a flat walk, through the bus parking lot and along some sidewalks. It is also .1 mile (or a bit more) to the Venezia SL train station - over a very long, high bridge, with steps going up and steps going down, then along a very long sidewalk to the train station, and up a long ramp (or more stairs) into the train station. You choose. I'd very much vote for arriving at Piazzale Roma, if it were me, and I was staying at that hotel. Also, if you think you'd like to arrive by train, you'd first have to take a bus to the Mestre train station, from the airport, then take the train. Or.... just take one bus (as described above) to Piazzale Roma.

just for clarity - there are no trains from that airport.

There are two ways to get to the hotel from the airport: one is a vaporetto, a water bus. Google the map. Look for the stop closest to your hotel, then walk. A more expensive way, a water taxi. You can book in advance but best to wait until you are at the airport. This will be a dramatic ride into Venice and will get you closest to your hotel. If you’ll be fatigued from your flight, have multiple suitcases, this is the way to go.

Just to clarify- the OP's hotel is within walking distance- (Google says 6 min)- from P Roma- a vaporetto would be of no use- vaporetto doesn't come from the airport. The Alilaguna does but that won't really get you any closer than the bus.

Very simple- take the bus then walk.

I suppose you could splurge on a water taxi-- if that interests you here is the link to book:

115 Euros and they can only get you to closest dock to your hotel- so you still have a short walk.

There is no water bus, known as vaporetto, from the airport.

And why anyone would take that water bus to go from the airport to Piazzle Roma is beyond me.

It is worth searching for previous comments about Alilaguna boats.

I've taken it once. Just once.

Given where your hotel is the only reasonable route is bus to P.Roma and a very short walk. You would walk more than that getting from the airport terminal to the Alilaguna. The bus is right outside the door.
