I am looking to book a private water taxi to depart from our Hotel (Hotel Al Codega) to Marco Polo Airport. I have been considering purchasing a ticket in advance on the Consortia Motoscafi Venezia website but would like some advice before I do so. Does anyone know where the nearest pick-up location would be by this hotel (the website claims it pick you up at most hotels but I would like to be sure). We have an 11:30A flight out of Marco Polo, what time do you think we need to leave our hotel using this service (we like to be really early to the airport)? And is it better to purchase tickets online (looks to be about 100 Euro) or purchase at the hotel/when in Venice for any discounts?

I'd go with your hotel's recommendation. Looks like they can get into the Rio del Scoacamini, a short walk from the hotel. You might need to time your departure so as not to coincide with the high tide, because this can sometimes prevent water taxis from getting to locations on the inner canals. They can't get under the bridges.

Is your 1130 flight a direct one home, or is it to an intermediate or final destination elsewhere in Europe?
If it is direct to the US you will need more time there +-3 hours, if within Europe 90 minutes to 2 hours.
Your hotel website should say where a taxi can arrive. Your hotel could book it for you before you leave, or you could try on line.
Don't count on any discounts.

Hello, bgadow86 - I am curious to know how your travel from hotel to the airport went. My family will be in Venice in two weeks and will fly home from there, too, and I have been looking at transport options to the airport. Did you take a taxi? How did you book it? Were the charges clear and as expected? How long in advance did you leave your hotel? Thanks much!

I'd have your hotel book it for you even though there won't be a discount. We let our hotel book it & it worked out fine. I read somewhere that people have had issues with the taxi being reliable (not picking them up) when they pre-paid.
