My husband and I will be staying in Milan for 2 nights in early Nov. Would anyone have a hotel suggestion near the Duomo? Looking for something clean, safe and around the $200/nt or less

I second Hotel Duca di York, we stayed there for two nights and found the location to be perfect. We walked absolutely everywhere from there.
The staff were incredibly helpful, I had awful trouble getting Last Supper tickets so they organised that for me, booked restaurants and were just generally very good.

I agree with Christine and Deb....I have stayed at Hotel Gran Duca di York twice and was very happy - with the room, the staff, the location, the breakfast!
However, it may not be in your price range as it looks like November rates are 230E/night. I'm not sure if your pricepoint is firm or not or if you have some wiggle room.
