Hotel suggestions for Bologna and Milan

Hello,

I am looking for hotel suggestions for Bologna and Milan. Preferably, the hotels should be within walking distance of restaurants and tourist attractions. We would also like modern or updated facilities that will make for a comfortable stay. AC and elevators are a must. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I agree with ChristineH about Hotel Gran Duca di York in Milan. The location is very convenient, only about a 5-minute walk to the Milan Duomo. Surprisingly, the location is quiet despite being in such a central location. The included breakfast is delicious and filling.

In Bologna, we enjoyed staying at the Casa Di Bertagna, located in the university district but still within walking distance of Piazza Maggiore and Piazza Santo Stefano. Our room was huge! And on the first floor. I think they have elevators, but you should ask. If not, request a room on the first floor. The included breakfast is delicious, and the service is exemplary.

Staying at Casa Isolani Piazza Maggiori in Bologna. There are elevators. Ratings say that the "breakfast" that's included at a place across the street consists of coffee, juice and a croissant.

We stayed at Hotel La Madonnina in Milan a few years ago - very nice and a great location!
