Hotel suggestions for a group of 20+ in Verona, Italy?

I'm guessing you're planning ahead for next year. A lot of hotels and B&B's in Italy won't start taking 2013 reservations until January. How many rooms are you going to need?

I'll need two singles, and probably six quads, although I may have an uneven number of males and females which makes the final number of rooms difficult to predict at this moment.

Considering your needs, I think I would do a google search for a tourist bureau and see if they can steer you to a facility that will work for you. TC

Another thought. Since you are doing a university study tour, see if there is a local college / university that has excess housing available. TC

Good idea about the local university. The major university in Verona is just southeast of the historic center, on the other side of the Adige river, in a neighborhood called "Veronetta". It's called the Universita' degli Studi di Verona. Here's their website: University of Verona

Hotel Verona, on the main street between the train station and the piazza where the arena is, has quad rooms. Their booking engine says they have five of them, but won't let you book them! But you could email the hotel directly and ask. These are described as "suites" by booking agencies like booking.com, so may have one double bed and one pull-out sofa. In other words, the kids would have to sleep 2 to a bed. That is probably what you will find with most "quad" rooms which are designed for families, though usually they have a double and 2 twins. You might actually need a hostel which has 4- or 6-bed rooms, all single or bunk type arrangements.
