Does this hotel in Milano still operate? It was under repair two years ago.

Yes, unfortunately it came back undeliverable and the old phone number I had likewise said the number was unavailable. I'm booked now at the Hotel Atena (brief holiday from teaching in Sofia) but I'll miss the Speronari: location, location, location. I was on a flight in October with my daughter and we recognized Rick Steves on the same flight. That was my chance to solve the Speronari mystery.

Sadly, it's gone. It was cheap, well located, and the staff made incredible espressos in the lobby to welcome you. If you find an good alternative, let me know!
