Hotel/Spa recommendations for Sardinia

My wife and I will be in Sardinia the 2nd week of September 2026 and are looking for something specific I guess. We'll be in Aosta the week prior and will have hiked and biked ourselves ragged so we're looking for a hotel or accommodation with or close to some sort of spa service (massage, steam sauna, cold bath etc) that's either on or very close to a beach so that we can recover from our Aosta adventures.

In the past we've stayed in Sestri Levante and Finale Ligure and found them both to be about perfect size: good restaurants, lots of things to see and smallish crowds.

Am I asking too much for something that fits all of those conditions in Sardinia?

I have only been once, but I don't think early September would be too late to find that. I would start by searching for "spa hotels" near each of the airports -- Olbia, Alghero, and Cagliari -- so you can narrow your search to one of those regions, plus it will help in planning what else you do during the week. Sardinia is very different, so you may find it harder to find a town like those on the mainland, but still I think you'll find something appealing. If I were in your shoes, I'd be looking at the Alghero area--combining the r&r with a short city break. good luck!
