hotel shuttle service

Would like to spend a night near VCE before our flight out . Any suggestions ofon hotels that are reasonable and have a shuttle bus to get us to the airport?

There's a Marriott Courtyard about half a mile from the Venice airport. [The distance isn't walkable .] The hotel has a shuttle; you'll need to check their website for the hours the shuttle runs.

To get to the hotel from Venice there's a city bus [maybe #5?] The bus stop is across the walkway, over the canal, at Piazzale Roma. This same bus also stops at the airport.

Safe travels!

Don't plan your European Adventure (on which you've spent thousands of dollars) around an airport shuttle service. Spend a few dollars for a taxi if you need one, but don't waste the last night in Europe.

we're planning a family trip for next year and hope this is possible. Anyway our cruise would dock in Venice and I think flying out the same day would be too stressful. My thought was to get a place near the airport and not have to worry about getting there in the morning. Good point in not wasting last day. We don't have air yet. This will be the end of and 18 day trip and we have already seen Venice, plus the rates for 7 people is quit high even for one night in Venice. Getting a jump start on planning, Thanks everyone

the only shame is finishing your vacation in Venice, or on a boat finishing in Venice and flying home from there.

Most of the flights - virtually all? - from Venice to North America are feeder flights which have a connection elsewhere in Europe. That means that they have to get to the connection airport early, which means that the vast majority of them leave at silly o'clock very early in the morning. Means a middle of the night check out, and check if the hotel offering a shuttle offers it so early...

As you have been previously to Venice either you had this experience or flew home from Milan, Florence or Rome where the flights are somewhat later in the day...

Nigel, Very good point about the time leaving Venice. Done it years ago..so quickly we forget. What air port would you suggest, I'm thinking Milan? Thanks so much for the reminder

For the cost of getting seven people to Milan, I would stay in Venice. When I flew out of Milan, it was early, too, so I just stayed at the MOXY at the Malpensa airport.

Try for a later AM Venice flight, but we have taken the early flight from Venice and stayed on the mainline that last night, too. We stayed at that same hotel mentioned already.

Niglel's advice is very good. Venice is a tough airport to from when returning to the US. If you were going to extend your trip a few days, then going to Milan or even Rome for a couple of nights would be nice. Both Milan and Rome airports would have more reasonable options. You might price the ticket differences between Venice and Milan. There could be some savings and might justify the train expense of getting to Milan. Otherwise you just live with the inconvenience of flying from Venice. Also, free airport shuttles from hotels is not very common in Europe.

On the stress side of return on Venice the same day the ship docks it might not be that bad. The airport is close. If you could get a flight schedule after 11am, it would be easy to make. Cruise ships are very efficient at getting you off early.
