Hotel Salute in Venice

I reserved the Hotel Salute and canceled a hotel near train station due to location. I also am traveling with someone who may need to come back for rest. How is the Salute hotel and neighborhood; I did not see the hotel or area listed in RIck's book on Italy. I also was not interested in spending $250 or $300 US dollars a night for hotel. Thanks.

I recommend Hotel American Denisen. It has very quiet location near Academia and good connections (vaporetto station) to airport and railroad station.

Have never stayed there, but looks nice from the website. the area is fine. the are quite a few galleries, some restaurants, etc. You will be between the Accademia and the Della Salute vaporetto stops, however there is a traghetto stop inbetween the two that is closer to the hotel than either stop.

Stroll through the neighborhood and wind up on the
Zatterre for more restaurants.

Dru that was a good move....gettting away from the train station and into Dorsoduro.

I haven't stayed at the Salute Hotel...but I have stayed in apartments in the area. It is a wonderful area....yes very safe!
