Hotel Sabotino, Milan?

Has anyone stayed in this establishment? It is mentioned in RS 2008 Italy guidebook. Two friends and I booked rooms there (we think, there appears to be a language barrier translation programs can't quite fix), however it has been nearly a week since we've heard from them, despite a request for them to contact us once our booking was confirmed (and an email since).

Since we've 'lost' contact with them we've run across the only review on tripadvisor.com which was scathing to say the least and found that a convention will be in town during our three-night stay in early May. Other hotels are booking up fast (ie everything $ and $$, and some $$$ in RS book and those mentioned anywhere in these forums) and prices appear to have risen. Are we panicking for no reason because of one scathing review, despite Rick's recommendation?

I don't know anything about the hotel you've mentioned, but here's a back-up recommendation. We have stayed at the Hotel Citta Studi twice. The rooms are smallish, but clean and reasonably priced (for Milan). It's a bit out of the center, but there's a tram line very close by; and if I'm remembering correctly, sometimes we even walked. Buona fortuna!
