Buongiorno tutti,
Can anyone recommend a hotel or b&b in Noto and Salerno? We'll be using these as bases for a trip next year. Grazie!

Salerno Centro B&B in Salerno. 3 rooms, only the Positano room has an en-suite bathroom. Run by the Manzo family, Mama Lina Manzo makes a great breakfast in her tiny kitchen. Not much to look at, but it's in a great location right at the edge of the Old Town, about 3 blocks from the Salerno Centrale train station and the adjacent bus station. Inexpensive--should be able to get whichever room for under 100 Euro/night.
Hi Christine,
I don't think you'll find many recommendations for Noto on this forum because most folks opt for the bigger cities like Siracusa (1 hour away by bus). Noto is quite compact, but lovely, so if you're looking for a small(er) town atmosphere, you will find it there (just keep in mind that bigger cities have more to offer as far as attractions go). I had very good luck using www.booking.com for many of my trips (domestic and international), including Sicily. You will find many more reviews on that site than you'll get here, and you can filter the hotels by many criteria. Lonely Planet is a good guide for Sicily, perhaps it will have some recommendations as well.
Thanks Agnes, I have been to Siracusa/Ortigia and would like to spend time in a smaller town like Noto, so I'll check booking.com and tripadvisor as well. Jay, thanks for the recommendation for Salerno.
Did you get a chance to also visit Scicli? I only saw it from the bus (that I took from Siracusa to Noto) but I would love to check it out next time.

Sciclu is attractive. Be aware that there's something funky about the local tourist office's hours. It was closed the entire morning or afternoon of the non-weekend day I was there. Left me nervously wandering around without a paper map in my hand. I need my security blanket!
I think some of the location filming for the Italian TV show Montalbano is done in Scicli.
