Thanks for your prompts to be more specific; this would be Venice SL and it is for 2 people for 2 nights in September.

Price range in euros per night? Venice is very expensive. You can spend over 1000 euros per night there. That sort of room is going to be a lot nicer than something at, say, 150 euros per night, but most of us aren't fishing in the 1000-euros-per-night pool.

Hotel Abbazia is an excellent recommendation. Antiche Figure, across the bridge from the train station is another.

Hotel Arlecchino, not far from Piazzale Roma, just across the bridge from S. Lucia station.

We stayed at Santa Croce boutique hotel which was over the bridge from the station and was such a lovely hotel! I highly recommend it. It took maybe 5-6 minutes to walk to and from the train station.
