La Falconara or Il Sasso, both great places, just down the road from each other. We stayed at Il Sasso, and it was clean, great value, and great view with pool. However, the only draw back might be is that the owners speak very little English. If you don't need there help for travel plans, then yo will be fine. On the other hand, La Falconara has all of the above, but the owner Alex Palenzona is a wealth of information and loves to share it. I would try LaFalcona first. If Alex is full he will help you communicate with Il Sasso. These 2 places are just a mile or so outside of Montepulciano. Great access to the Val d'Orcia, Pienza etc.

Ilana, go to these Trip Advisor links and check out the different types of places avail., prices, and reviews done by travelers.

All of the places are ranked by reviewer popularity, and then you can sort by price, type of accomodation, etc. When you find something that you like, you can also send an Email to one of the people that reviewed your pick, and ask them more questions.

This is how we find many places that we stay when a RS choice is not avail.
