My husband & I are going to Capri for the first time and plan on spending the night. We are looking for a hotel recommendation. Would also love any suggestions on things to see and do and places to eat.

Without knowing what your interests are, Capri has a good website with all sorts of ideas for activities so you might want to start with that?
You also don't mention what month you're planning to visit? A fair amount of restaurants and whatnot shut down over the winter months so when you're going may affect what you choose to do. We were pretty happy just getting a map and exploring the island on foot but you'll probably want to take a bus up to the town of Anacapri for a lookabout. The chairlift to the top of Mt Solaro is fun, and there's a cafe up there for enjoying a beverage and snack along with the view.

Ignore all the advertising on the website for tours as you don't need them.
We stayed at Hotel Mamela but it looks like rates for a sea-view room are more pricey than when we were there some years back.
