I'm looking for a hotel in Sestri Levante. After reading some reviews on other sites I found Hotel Genova. Has anyone stayed there and have input. If anyone has other hotel recomendations I would really appreciate it. Thanks for everyone's help.

Lisa, have you read the reviews on Trip Advisor? If you have any questions, you can sign in to TA and send a reviewer a personal message/question. We always use TA to vett any possible lodging choice we may have. In the past we have found reviews posted by EU residents to be much more "glowing" than reviews posted by people from the US.

If you want to stay all the way in Sestri, then why don't you go a short train stop further East and stay in Moneglia instead. Much prettier and quainter.

Thank you for the information. I will check Trip advisor Roberto - do you have any hotel recommendation for Moneglia? Sounds like I need to do some research on the town. Day trips I have planned are Genoa for 1 day and the Cinque Terra for a day. Have thoughts for another day? We will be staying 3 nights. Really appreciate everyone's help

Didn't know you also wanted to go to the Cinque Terre as well. Then maybe you should stay 3 nights at the CT (Monterosso is the best choice if you want to day trip by train to Genova). The Cinque Terre have more to offer and will keep you busy for two days for sure. The trip to Genova from Monterosso is as fast as 1h20min one way. You could do that way if you want. From Moneglia is also 1h20 min. No difference because Monterosso has faster trains that stop there. If you stay in Moneglia, which is halfway between Monterosso and Genova, I would leave a day to relax at the beach and do absolutely nothing. Just stay at the beach, eat and walk around town. Moneglia is cute but I can't suggest hotels since I haven't been there for many years. Another doable day trip is to Portofino. That's also around the same area.
