I hope you get some responses here to your question about a specific property--but remember a relatively small group of travelers post here. As you've probably already done, you'll get many more responses to your question about a specific property if you also post your question on one of the other travel websites.

I suggest checking Booking.com for reviews as well. They only accept reviews from people who have actually stayed there (and booked thru Booking.com). Overall review is four out of five stars.

Thanks, Kathy and Tim. I have done that. I just wanted to hear some other impressions from people at RS forum.

Ozzy, IMHO you'll absolutely have better luck if you use the booking.com site (my trusted favorite for the reason Kathy H. has noted ) or TripAdvisor. Along with the RS forum community being pretty small - and the number of hotels in Florence being many - this site is without the dedicated review function offered by the other two sites, or the ability to review candid shots on TA which prior guests have posted. Anyway, I wouldn't guess that you'd get enough, if any, very recent feedback on Orto de' Medici here to be all that useful.

I just took a look at it on booking.com + its own website and wouldn't hesitate to stay there. Very nice! :O)

As far as those "trusted" reviews from booking.com here's another viewpoint. I booked the hotel Blumental in Murren via booking.com because the hotel has no booking engine of their own. We completed our stay and I received the automated email from booking asking me for my review. I completed the review saying mostly good things with only a couple of things that weren't so great. After I submitted the review to booking.com I get a response a few days later telling me my review didn't meet their guidelines and asking me if I wanted to change anything about my review.

I was highly annoyed to say the least. I spent time offering my feedback about the hotel. Like I said - it was mostly very very good. What the heck that booking.com doesn't like my review, but doesn't tell me explicitly what they don't like about it. I rarely leave reviews with booking.com because I mostly booking directly with hotels, and I offer my reviews on tripadvisor.

So, No, I don't trust booking.com more than tripadvisor - actually I think how many real reviews has booking.com sent back as unacceptable...makes me suspicious of booking.com for sure.

Hi Tim,
I understand what you are saying. It is annoying. However, so far, the times I have used Booking.com I have had no problems. But thanks, anyway.
