Hotel Dali which is in Rick's book has a nice quad room. How important is air conditioning to your family? It will be fairly warm in July.

Casa Tintori B&B has a quad room which is nice and large. Great location, nice price (I think it was 190 euros for 4). There is a very high-tech airconditioner in the room but we couldn't manage to make it work very well, even on the "muscle" setting, but we don't know Italian and probably were not doing it right.

I recently stayed in the Ostello Archi Rossi. It is a hostel and a hotel. They have triple and quadruple rooms available in the hotel side. http://www.hostelarchirossi.com/ It is in a good location - 10 minute walk down the street that is on will bring you right to the Duomo area. The street that it is on has a number of good restaurants, as well as some smaller grocery stores. Train station is a 5 minute walk.

We're in Florence right now staying at the IlBargello B&B. I highly recommend it. great location on a quiet street. Comfortable beds and airconditioning. You can see the Duomo from the rooftop terrace. You can read reviews on Trip Advisor. Be forewarned, there are stairs (77 of them). But absolutely worth it.

Another vote for Archi Rossi. We stayed there 2 years ago in a private room. The location was great, and we even had access to a rooftop "terrace".

We stayed at a Convent. FANTASTIC. Our kids could not wait to return. The sisters LOVED the kids. Super awesome breakfast too, and there is free parking. [email protected] They have a website: http://www.csse-roma.eu/eng/english.php?zm=5 The Firenze place is about half way down the page. The place is a litte walk into town, but we LOVED walking down the Arno into town with a view of Florence. It's really close to the classic "photo of Florence" shot up on the hill overlooking town. It's the San Minato church.

Second vote for B & B Il Bargello. Gabriella was a gracious hostess and we enjoyed our stay. Great location.
