hotel or BnB with Pool in Rome

Wife and I are travelling for our first time to Rome for 3 nights after a day in Naples and before a few days in Cinque Terra. It will be July and we'd like a pool to cool down in after long days at the regular tourist sites (Vatican, Colosseum, Forum, Spanish Steps etc). We'd like to walk to as many places as possible but yet stay in a safe area of town and quieter hotel/Bnb.

Our budget is moderate (no need to be cheap but no need to be at highest luxury paces either). Thanks for any help on even area of town to stay in if you do not know if hotel has a pool.

Your request is:
1. Swimming Pool
2. In the historical center (walking Distance from the sights)
3. Modest Budget.

The above requests are incompatible. You can only select 2 out of the 3, but you can't have all 3.

Please select no more than two of the above, and come back here with your reformulated request.
Hotel with swimming pools in the city center will require at least $350 to $500/night

The Grand Hotel Gianicolo has a nice pool I have never stayed there but the location is not bad and the prices are reasonable.

With only 3 nights you have only 2 days to see Rome which is not even a fraction of being enough time. You can get your fill of swimming in Mediterranean from Monterosso Beach and for much cheaper than Rome.

Swimming in Rome is like wanting to go snow sledding in Abu Dhabi. You're going to end up compromising on location or price more than its worth. Plan a day trip to the beach or spend part of your time in Italy along the Amalfi Coast.

I agree with the previous posters that since you are in Rome a mere 3 nights, you should not seek a place with a pool.
A hotel with pool at the price you are willing to pay would require you to stay way out in the edges of Rome, far away from the city center. Rome is a safe city everywhere, certainly where those (mostly business) hotels with pools are. But that choice will make it very inconvenient for visiting the city and ultimately also expensive because chances are you would end end up spending a lot of money in taxis. So if and your wife can, try to resist the urge of submerging yourself in that chemical compound consisting of 2 atoms of hydrogen and one of oxygen, and leave that to when you are at the Cinque Terre, where those chemical elements are available at a much cheaper price (with the added bonus of some sodium chloride as well). Instead find a hotel smack in the historical center. You will enjoy Rome so much in that area that you will soon forget about the pool water. If liquids are essential to your happiness, there is no shortage of wine in Rome.
